The Naked Feedback, LimbicTV Live Stream

The Naked Feedback is a 4-piece Rock group from Blantyre, Scotland.

The act is made up of: lead singer and rhythm guitarist Dean Anderson; Lead guitarist and backing singer Callum Anderson; Jacko on Bass guitar, backing vocals, and Synth; and Derek Whiteford on Drums, percussion, and backing vocals.

Drawing their sound from Queens of the Stone Age, lyricism from John Cooper Clarke, the band's image is a modern take on Marlon Brando’s The Wild One but with a darker twist.

After being handpicked by Frank Carter as his favourite unsigned band for a partnership with Sailor Jerry's Rum, The Naked Feedback caused shockwaves with their music video “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and it featured on 7 tabloid newspapers front covers including The Scottish Sun. Performing at Saint Lukes for the Tenement Trail Fest, their singles The Goodbye and Silent Disco were also played at Scottish Football stadiums such as Ibrox Stadium, Celtic Park and Tynecastle with the year culminating in a string of successful shows around Europe.

Before the pandemic, The Naked Feedback performed a sold out hometown in 2 days with a buzz starting to seriously follow the band wherever they went.

During the pandemic the band organised a small tour of their local town and played a “pop-up tour” at nursing homes and sheltered housing for the elderly residents and the staff who worked there. Whilst many bands laid low, The Naked Feedback took on their most ambitious project in Nov 2020 by taking on Billie Eilish with their alternative James Bond Theme “Fallen for a Spy”.

With the world still in upheaval, 2021 birthed a new single “Boys Can Cry”, a deeply personal song about male mental health. A strong message that was carried through all shows from that year.

Now, the band are revitalised from their relative downtime. The new mantra is to play more shows and release music more often. “2EVIL2SOON” is the band's self confessed best track to date. No better way to start a new post COVID world.

Velvet Starlings & Angelica Mode

Velvet Starlings is a 60s infused garage rock ‘n’ roll band hailing from Los Angeles and the beach cities of Southern California. Velvet Starlings is becoming a staple in the blossoming neo psychedelic garage rock scene on the West Coast, with several tours under their belt, internationally and across the country. The band was founded by young lead singer, guitarist & organ player Christian Gisborne who is known for his dynamic live stage performance, concert attendance record and impressive Lego collection. Velvet Starlings is rounded out by brother’s drummer Foster Poling and bassist Hudson Poling.

Angelica Mode is the project of songwriter Brian Hughes, formed in early 2020. Brian has spent the last 7 years honing his craft both in the studio and live, including opening for The Amazons along the way. He released his new single, “Don’t Make Me Wait” in April 2021, and Brian has already found support from Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly for Angelica Mode, and has been featured on BBC Radio Scotland for his song writing.

Since releasing debut single “Your Love Is All The Rage”, he has received a place on the inaugural Ivor Novello Academy Mentorship, and also received national press coverage, with the Scottish Sun offering valuable support in their New Music column with a half page write up, and the Scotsman “Under The Radar” column noting, “It (Your Love Is All The Rage), establishes Angelica Mode as an act to watch in 2021”.

Clearly Angelica Mode is one to watch for the future, with 2021 already having yielded some significant accolades. Spotlight Music marked him as one of their “Top 45 Upstarts for 2021”, as well as winning “Best Indie Song” in the Teen Clash Indie Awards for his song “Your Love Is All The Rage”. At this time, his song “Don’t Make Me Wait” has received much positive press, as well as reaching the Semi Final of the International Songwriting Competition this year.

Having caught the attention of L.A based record label Sound X3 Records, he has an album in the works and bigger things beyond.

“..an exciting talent in the scene” – Discovery Music

"a great catchy melody paired with clever lyrics” – Alive and Gigging

“..soulful, full of great lyricism and delivered with a voice that echoes Marc Bolan” - Spotlight Music

Kyoshi Station, LimbicTV Live Stream

Kyoshi Station came about when on a lonely afternoon during the first lockdown, mucking about with guitar and a midi keyboard, the seeds of a song idea happened to germinate in the form of a simple chord sequence and funky clavinova riff. This developed into a song called Butterfly and was soon followed by several others - all infused with influences from the like of Pink Floyd, The Beta Band, Super Furry Animals and Daft Punk. The live sound of the band was developed through months of evolving rehearsals, adjustments, tinkering and experimenting. The home recorded album Impostors - peppered with sporadic ideas and themes of failing to meet potential, second guessing yourself and changing one's mind - was released in early 2022 supported by some live shows.

The plan now is to develop a follow up to Impostors in a studio environment, and of course more gigs shows over the rest of 2022.

Exterior, LimbicTV Live Show

Exterior is the artist moniker of Edinburgh producer Doug MacDonald. The artistic mission is to bring together the formally disparate worlds of electronic club sonics with elements of live instrumentation. Exterior’s pathway coalesced from years spent performing in bands and nights spent on dancefloors. Guitar feedback and live drum eruptions provide a textural abrasion and a haunted, humane groove currently absent in much UK dance. Admittedly, the latter’s unshakable syncopation and melodic pressure inform the method of the former. The two approaches are synthesised most noticeably in live performance. The combination is now made manifest in Exerior’s debut album ‘UMBILICAL DIGITAL’.

The record is a playful, irreverent, propulsive long-player, underpinned by the emergent global latticework of connectedness. UMBILICAL DIGITAL is an admission of the level of dependencies in contemporary music(s). This comes most noticeably in Fugazi-on-dancehall moment ORTHODOX DREAMS, footwork and math-rock mashing oddity TYRANNY OF CHOICE, or ritalin-addled robo-disco workout POPULIST. That the record is only eight tracks long and combines as many elements as it does, reflects Exterior’s artistic ambition in the process. The bedrock allowing this confidence has been road-testing the material live in Edinburgh venues, most overtly at local electronic institution Bongo Club. UMBILICAL DIGITAL is released via Edinburgh label Hobbes Music on vinyl and download. It features artwork by Exterior’s live visual artist collaborator, Panos Baras.

Maz and the Phantasmz, LimbicTV Live Stream

"Maz & The Phantasms is the post-lockdown five piece psych-rock squad fronted by Mariam El Sadr and her closest collaborator Jamie McKay. After hours of bedroom recordings and acoustic cover gigs in old-man pubs across Scotland, Mariam & Jamie found a stellar gang of like-minded musical psychnauts in the mean streets of Glasgow Southside (Toby Valentine, Sam Casey, Par Carlsson). The post-pandemic era is their moment to share their vision: a new wave of unapologetic psychedelic rock n' roll, surfy guitar riffs and screaming synthesisers. Inspired by French indie pop, Krautrock noises, a healthy dose of vintage pastiche Americana and a DIY punk attitude, the Phantasms are cultivating their own sound with every new performance, putting forward a one-of-a-kind experience for audiences at every gig. Their anti-minimalist songs conjure a big wall of noise that fragments and spirals on stage: daring electric guitar and synthesier melodies race each other to the gates of pop heaven where heartfelt choruses and dance breaks collide. Each song is unique and intricate, taking us on a fun rock’n roll road trip that often leads to unexpected places. The Phantasms’ diverse cultural and musical background make their sound subvert the paradigms of the casual rock band: samba beats drive a grunge song and surfy guitars turn into playful disco.

Overheard descriptive at a gig: « kinda a cosmic road trip into a psychobilly gay bar with vegan dinosaurs and casual latin grooves. » "

Yoko Pwno, New album debut, Live

We're excited to announce that Yoko Pwno will be debuting their new line-up, and tracks from their new album, here on Limbic TV!

Yoko Pwno's twisted, irreverent take on Scottish folk music brings joyful, louder-than-life energy to the party whenever they play. Formed in Edinburgh in 2013, the band performed at raves in the caverns beneath the city's historic Old Town before graduating to a residency at legendary venue Studio 24, opening for world famous trad acts like Shooglenifty and The Treacherous Orchestra. Since then Yoko Pwno have become regulars on Scotland's festival circuit, releasing debut album 'Artefacts' in 2019.

Their second album, entitled 'Part Machine', will drop via Skye Records label in April 2022. Referencing everything from The Prodigy to Pink Floyd, the record mixes original songs and instrumentals with synth bass and riotous beats, taking their Trad music leanings to a new level.

It covers subjects from psychiatric meds and reliance on technology to burned-out Hollywood stars, ground-breaking female swimmers, and bars in Leith, Edinburgh and New Orleans.

The group features new members Helen Le-Mar - flute Gary Rafferty - tenor banjo, who join the line-up of Lissa Robertson - vox+fiddle Lewis Williamson - fiddle Calum Cummins - guitar, sax, production Ali Hutchison - drums+percussion.

This show with Limbic TV marks the first time that the band have played these tracks in front of a live audience! Tune in or miss out!

The Bum-Clocks are actor Tam Dean Burn on vocals; his brother Russell ( Fire Engines, Win, Boots For Dancing, The Tramadolls ) on drums; Malcolm Ross ( Josef K, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera ) and Colin “Coco” Whitson ( ). They’ve received heaps of praise over their near twenty year history from Dave Pollock asking “ Could they be Leith’s first ever supergroup?” to Tom Morton’s suggestion that Ross is “possibly the most influential Scottish guitarist ever”. The Bum-Clocks have played many of Scotland’s top festivals over the years and toured fifty gigs across the country during the Homecoming celebrations of Burns 250th anniversary in 2009. Proceedings on the night will get going with a Burns For Bairns performance by Tam filmed at the Children’s Wood, Glasgow to an audience of pre-school Burns fans. This will keep the kids occupied whilst tatties and neeps are peeled and haggis prepared. To get everyone in the mood the Bum-Clocks will perform live a twenty minute set of their Burns song mashups with the likes of Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan and the Bay City Rollers. Then the band will take a break for folk to serve up and dine on their first course to the accompaniment of classic Scottish instrumental recordings.

The Bum-Clocks return with the first performance of their new score for Burns’ Love and Liberty Cantata, also known as The Jolly Beggars. After another break for the obligatory haggis, neeps and tatties, the band celebrate the release that day of their Tree O’Liberty EP on Ramrock Records with its Executive Producer and Edinburgh soul legend Joseph Malik and Roseanne Erskine joining on backing vocals and Paulo Riddle on Voodoo Percussion. Then it’s time for pudding and folks own home entertainment and the whole package will be available online for those celebrating later. Tam Dean Burn said “ The worldwide celebration of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns on his birthday is a truly remarkable event. More than ever we need to find ways to come together and I’m so glad that the Bum-Clocks have found a way to offer an alternative Burns Supper. When I say alternative I mean that in every sense!”

Los Chichanos, LimbicTV Live Stream

The band behind Edinburgh’s underground fiesta scene, Los Chichanos are a combo formed to heat up the city with pumping Latin music. Mixing a full percussion section, powerful vocals, vintage guitar solos and mesmerizing Peruvian melodies from the Amazon and the Andes, Los Chichanos perform “chicha” or Jungle Cumbia. The style of Latin music has experienced a worldwide boom in recent years, and it’s clear why – tropical vibes, jungle sounds, experimental guitar-driven songs, 60s organ leads and the hot energy of a salsa conjunto. This music was written to make bodies move and minds travel.

With members from Brazil, USA, Australia and the UK, the international combo formed in Scotland in 2021 and their shows regularly reach capacity across Edinburgh, popular with lovers of Latin music, late night dance circles and tropical travellers. Using traditional cumbia rhythms and full-powered salsa percussion on congas, bongos, guira and drumkit, the group mixes experimental electric guitar and vintage synth effects, exploring ‘60s psychedelic sounds at times. This is the whole Los Chichanos sound, something ideal for transforming a cold and crisp Scottish landscape into a sizzling exotic soundscape. Let Los Chichanos lead you on their tropical expedition across the Latin dancefloor and deep into the misty South American rainforest.

We've been busy writing new songs, which are to be released by HX Records - the album entitled "Fairytale on Fire" also includes a guest session player "Sal Bernardi" - he worked with Rickie Lee Jones. The album is due out early 2022.

This gig we are going to play will be our new album in its entirety. Plus some bonus tracks. Maybe even a xmas tune that was written in 10 minutes. Quite possibly a song that's not written yet, - just to keep it exciting.

Midnight Ambulance, Fresh Produce & LimbicTV Live stream

"Midnight Ambulance are an alternative rock duo from Scotland.

Last year, old friends Fraser (guitar/vocals) and Amelia (drums/vocals) reconnected after losing touch for many years. When lockdown hit, they began collaborating as a creative and cathartic outlet. Their musical partnership quickly developed into something bigger, writing 70 songs by June 2020.

On Amelia’s return to Scotland, after eight months of writing together via video call, they finally had the opportunity to jam live and decided to form Midnight Ambulance.

In February 2021, they released their debut single ‘Black Gloves’ which quickly gained the attention of national media, including BBC Scotland Introducing (premiere) BBC Alba (Single of the Week) and The Scotsman on Sunday (Artist of the Week).

In May 2021, Midnight Ambulance released their second studio single '5 AM' which gained even more national media support. This included another premiere with BBC Scotland Introducing and was again selected as BBC Alba's RAPAL Single of the Week. The release also resulted in a live session for Scotsman on Sunday, multiple Amazing Radio and local plays and features in Tenement TV blog, The Scottish Sun and a host of other music press features. The track was also selected by BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson to open his June 2021 mixtape podcast.

Vic Galloway (BBC Radio Scotland) said “The debut single by Midnight Ambulance, Black Gloves is a brilliant first step. Ominous, looming and with a real sense of menace, the duo conjure a unique atmosphere with Amelia's heartfelt vocal and pounding drums front and centre, elegantly accompanied by Fraser's playing and production. This is a serious opening salvo and promises greatness in whatever they do next. As a listener, I am excited and slightly scared!!”

The Texas School Book Depositary Boys were formed in Edinburgh in 2019. Rising from the ashes of psychedelic trailblazers My Electric Love Affair (MELA), They were assembled by

Rab Connelly - guitar,

Scott Moore - guitar,

Kevin Edgar - percussion.

Initially, they played a couple of instrumental gigs then in March 2020 they recruited Rodney Relax on vocals who has also performed with MELA on and off since 2000. Unfortunately, the bands progress was cut short when the covid struck last year. The band came back stronger in 2021 as they got back into a rehearsal room. With a deep roots sound of twin guitars and sparse percussion laid over dark lyrics of hooligans and hoodlums, this band will take you to some uncomfortable places, enjoy the ride as the blue smoke roils and churns.
