DIY BURNS SUPPER WITH THE BUM-CLOCKS

The Bum-Clocks DIY Burns Supper Dance!

Live on LimbicTV 25 January 2022 7pm GMT The Burnsian band The Bum-Clocks will perform three sets live streaming from the LimbicTV studio in Leith starting at 7pm GMT on Robert Burns’ 263rd birthday 25 January 2022 with breaks between sets for folks at home to enjoy their celebratory meals. This can all be viewed for on LimbicTV’s Youtube and Facebook channels. The Bum-Clocks are actor Tam Dean Burn on vocals; his brother Russell ( Fire Engines, Win, Boots For Dancing, The Tramadolls ) on drums; Malcolm Ross ( Josef K, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera ) and Colin “Coco” Whitson ( ). They’ve received heaps of praise over their near twenty year history from Dave Pollock asking “ Could they be Leith’s first ever supergroup?” to Tom Morton’s suggestion that Ross is “possibly the most influential Scottish guitarist ever”. The Bum-Clocks have played many of Scotland’s top festivals over the years and toured fifty gigs across the country during the Homecoming celebrations of Burns 250th anniversary in 2009. Proceedings on the night will get going with a Burns For Bairns performance by Tam filmed at the Children’s Wood, Glasgow to an audience of pre-school Burns fans. This will keep the kids occupied whilst tatties and neeps are peeled and haggis prepared. To get everyone in the mood the Bum-Clocks will perform live a twenty minute set of their Burns song mashups with the likes of Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan and the Bay City Rollers. Then the band will take a break for folk to serve up and dine on their first course to the accompaniment of classic Scottish instrumental recordings.

The Bum-Clocks return with the first performance of their new score for Burns’ Love and Liberty Cantata, also known as The Jolly Beggars. After another break for the obligatory haggis, neeps and tatties, the band celebrate the release that day of their Tree O’Liberty EP on Ramrock Records with its Executive Producer and Edinburgh soul legend Joseph Malik and Roseanne Erskine joining on backing vocals and Paulo Riddle on Voodoo Percussion. Then it’s time for pudding and folks own home entertainment and the whole package will be available online for those celebrating later. Tam Dean Burn said “ The worldwide celebration of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns on his birthday is a truly remarkable event. More than ever we need to find ways to come together and I’m so glad that the Bum-Clocks have found a way to offer an alternative Burns Supper. When I say alternative I mean that in every sense!”
