Yoko Pwno, New album debut, Live

We're excited to announce that Yoko Pwno will be debuting their new line-up, and tracks from their new album, here on Limbic TV!

Yoko Pwno's twisted, irreverent take on Scottish folk music brings joyful, louder-than-life energy to the party whenever they play. Formed in Edinburgh in 2013, the band performed at raves in the caverns beneath the city's historic Old Town before graduating to a residency at legendary venue Studio 24, opening for world famous trad acts like Shooglenifty and The Treacherous Orchestra. Since then Yoko Pwno have become regulars on Scotland's festival circuit, releasing debut album 'Artefacts' in 2019.

Their second album, entitled 'Part Machine', will drop via Skye Records label in April 2022. Referencing everything from The Prodigy to Pink Floyd, the record mixes original songs and instrumentals with synth bass and riotous beats, taking their Trad music leanings to a new level.

It covers subjects from psychiatric meds and reliance on technology to burned-out Hollywood stars, ground-breaking female swimmers, and bars in Leith, Edinburgh and New Orleans.

The group features new members Helen Le-Mar - flute Gary Rafferty - tenor banjo, who join the line-up of Lissa Robertson - vox+fiddle Lewis Williamson - fiddle Calum Cummins - guitar, sax, production Ali Hutchison - drums+percussion.

This show with Limbic TV marks the first time that the band have played these tracks in front of a live audience! Tune in or miss out!
