Formed in 2000, Edinburgh Psych Rockers My Electric Love Affair have seen a succession of personnel changes before eventually settling on the current line up. In that time they have released 5 records and played hundreds of gigs. This performance for Limbic TV show cases outr new drummer.
We played our first gig in August 2000 at Bannerman’s pub in Edinburgh and have released 4 singles (vinyl only), the 1st was a 12″ called As If I Get Confused (2004) which we financed ourselves. The 2nd was a 7″ double A side called Infinite Mass / (so) I’m Alone (2005) which was released on a Birmingham label called Static Caravan.
All our music is self recorded on a Tascam 688 tape 8-track which was purchased for a very reasonable price on ebay. Over the years we have built up a fine arsenal of effects processors and microphones and have become very much obsessed with the whole recording process.We have constantly played live over the years, mostly in Edinburgh / Glasgow but have also played in most of the major cities in the UK. In 2008 we done a mini tour of Northern France which we organised through myspace. We would very much like to play and record as much music as humanly possible.
2011 saw us release another 7″ single call If I Lived Here I’d Be Home By Now / Seventh Sense (200 pressed, hand stamped covers). Which was nice…
