"Jemima Thewes and Tim Lane are an enveloping folksy fusion of dark songs and bright rhythms, evoking highland landscapes, the underworld and transformation. Cloud hopping tales are told by the warm and haunting vocals of song-writer Jemima. She is accompanied by playful, atmospheric rhythms from Tim on the percussive time lines, and sometimes, with any luck, other pals playing a variety of strings, including cello, mandolin, guitar and fiddle.
Following the launch of Jemima's debut EP 'Bright Shadows' in 2015, the band are promoting their long awaited first album 'Calling', which will be released in the next few months. It features a variety of legendary pals: Susan Appelbe on cello, David Boyter on guitar & mandolin, Morag Brown and Kate Young on fiddles, Misha Somerville on low whistle and Jem Le Lievre on bass. Both records were produced and recorded by Tim Lane, who drums with Hidden Orchestra."
