Dominic Waxing Lyrical feat Aberfeldy Live Stream

Dominic Waxing Lyrical has made his mark on the Scottish music scene in various interesting ways including touring the Union Canal in a barge (a lovely, logical idea – The Scotsman) and by getting arrested for performing above Ladbrokes on the Royal Mile. Championed by John Peel and John Cavanagh, BBC’s "Classics Unwrapped", Jonathan Richman and Lauren Laverne and currently signed to Tenement Records, Dominic Waxing Lyrical started his musical life in the heady days of the 90s. He is now speeding along like nobody’s business, having produced 3 albums in the last 4 years. Described as Talking Heads-esque post-punk by The List, he currently performs with Mr McFall’s Chamber and the band Aberfeldy and they’ve just recorded their 4th album in Indiana. An avid commentator on both the social and human condition, with echoes of Leonard Cohen, The Smiths and Wreckless Eric (The Herald). “The name Rural Tonic calls to mind two things. The first: a gentile spa retreat – maybe you’ve gone to the Lakes and just logged off, yknow? Got to know you? Looked up. The other thing it conjures is a kind of borderline illegal moonshine operation being run by a farmer out of a disused barn – nights of which nobody speaks. A League of Gentlemen-style fugue state that can sometimes overtake small villages. That’s the end of the spectrum that we’re on here.” (The Skinny 2017) “Lying somewhere between HALF MAN HALF BISCUIT and Kirk Brandon’s SPEAR OF DESTINY, `Wednesday’, `Swansong’, `Colonial’ and the digital single `Thursday (Searching)’, DWL – augmented by Riley and his drummer brother Murray Briggs, George McFall (all from ABERFELDY) and Neil Bateman (from BADGEWEARER) – should make 2015 a year to remember for their hipper-than-hip lead singer. “ (The Great Rock Bible 2015)
